DUBLIN WEB SUMMIT JOB DESCRIPTIONS

About The Dublin Web SummitThe Dublin Web Summit brings some of the world’s leading tech entrepreneurs, investors, media and business leaders to Ireland to speak to the Irish start up and business communities. The Summit is a learning and networking event that attracts an average of 700 attendees at each of it’s three annual events. March and June are half-day events, while October is a two day event.
About the October event
Dates: October 27th and 28thLocation: RDS
This October the Dublin Web Summit returns with another two-day Summit for the start up and business communities. The Summit will kick off on Thursday the 27th with three streams and finish on Friday the 28th with a day of keynotes. Throughout the Summit there will be continuous networking in Last year at our inaugural two-day Summit, speakers included the founders of Twitter, Youtube and Skype. The Summits have been covered by leading international media including Bloomberg, The New York Times, TechCrunch, Wired, CNBC, The Telegraph, The Irish Times and many more.
Role: Speaker and Guest Manager
Time-frame: 7 weeks 19th Sep- 4th Nov

Responsibilities:

Pre event:

  • Compiling information on guests and speakers
  • Working out the logistics of speakers’ flights, hotels and transportation
  • Creating a detailed plan for the successful execution of all speaker logistics on the day

During the Summit:

Responsible for getting all speakers to each stream at the right time

  • Managing a team of five runners working on executing the above
  • Monitoring a speakers’ room where speakers will prepare

Experience:

Ideally the perfect candidate will have:

  • 2-5 years experience in event management or a related field
  • Excellent organisational skills and extensive problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A knowledge of the web and tech industry is desirable but not essential

Role: Sales Executive

Time-frame: 8 weeks 5th Sep- 30th Oct

Responsibilities:

Pre-Event:

  • Be the first point of contact for anyone inquiring about the Dublin Web Summit
  • Manage all ticket sales during the months of September and October
  • Help to drive new sales through calls, email announcements, and advertisements
  • Deal with any queries from attendees; change of name and info on tickets etc.
  • Manage registration for all attendees for two Pub Summits
  • Prepare all files for the smooth registration of attendees during the Dublin Web Summit 27/28 Oct

During the Summit:

  • In charge of registration of all Dublin Web Summit attendees
  • Deal with any queries from attendees

Experience:

Ideally the perfect candidate will have:

  • Sales Experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability

Role: Overall Floor Manager

Time-frame: 2 weeks 17th Oct- 30th Oct

Responsibilities:

Pre event:

  • Liaise with exhibition manager, room floor managers, display contractor and AV company to run through the event

On the day:

  • Oversee all logistics on the day
  • Oversee the timing and execution of the catering
  • Oversee each room floor manager

Experience:

Ideally the perfect candidate will have:

  • At least 2-5 years experience in event management or a related field
  • Excellent organisational skills and extensive problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A knowledge of the web and tech industry is desirable but not essential

Role: Exhibition Manager

Time-frame: 2 weeks 17th Oct- 30th Oct

Responsibilities:

Pre event:

  • Contact all start up companies exhibiting in the Start Up Zone and Exhibition Space two weeks before, ensuring that they are fully informed
  • Be familiar with all exhibiting companies
  • Deal with any queries they might have
  • Liaise with Display Contractor to solve any problems or queries

During the Summit:

  • Direct all companies to the Start-Up Zone and Exhibition Space
  • Deal with any of their queries
  • Keep in constant contact with the Display Contractor in the event that any slight changes need to be made

Experience:

Ideally the perfect candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years experience in the event management industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills

Role: Social Media Manager:

Time-frame: 7 weeks: 19th Sep- 4th Nov

Responsibilities:

Pre event:

  • Manage the construction of the Dublin Web Summit App
  • Continually update the website with new speakers, information etc
  • Tweet from the DWS twitter account topics related to tech and to the event itself
  • Update the DWS facebook page with photos, info and respond to posts

During and after the Summit:

  • Oversee live tweeting from each stage
  • Continually update the website with any changes that may occur

Experience:

Ideally the perfect candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience using twitter, facebook and other social media tools
  • A strong knowledge of the web and tech industry
  • Extensive writing experience

Role: Assistant PR & Communications Manager

Time-frame: 4 weeks 3rd of Oct- 30th Oct

Responsibilities:

Pre event:

  • Research all DWS speakers to identify topics and questions of interest
  • Schedule interviews and press itinerarys
  • Write press releases and liaise with social Media Manager to ensure consistency of message
  • Liaise with Sales Executive to arrange Media tickets

During the Summit:

  • Be the point of contact for media at DWS
  • Facilitate interviews and photos
  • Ensure all media are being chaperoned and needs being met

Experience:Ideally the perfect candidate will have:

  • 2-5 years experience in PR or a related field
  • Extensive media and communications experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A knowledge of the web and tech industry is desirable but not essential
